The Competition was inaugurated in 2018 as an international initiative centred on the music of Karol Szymanowski
Each successive edition has consistently enhanced the Competition’s prestige, bringing together outstanding young artists, distinguished jury members and international audiences. As a result, the Competition continues to strengthen its position among the world’s leading music events
From the very beginning, the idea behind the Competition was to create an interdisciplinary space that would allow the works of Karol Szymanowski to be heard in their full richness.
This vision is realised through the Competition’s international format and its broad organisational and artistic scope. The second edition, held in 2023, confirmed the Competition’s importance by attracting participants and jury members from many countries.
